PS5 reportedly outsold Switch 2 in US in September 2026, its best US sales month since May 2025

PlayStation 5 outsold Nintendo Switch 2 in both units and dollar sales in the US in September 2026, Push Square reports. The outlet calls it the PS5’s strongest US sales month since May 2025.

PS5 unit sales rose 22% from September 2025, while Switch 2 unit sales fell 14% and Xbox Series X|S fell 27%, according to Push Square and Pure Xbox. Both outlets draw on figures from Circana analyst Mat Piscatella. These percentages compare each console’s unit sales with the same month a year earlier, not with sales of competing consoles.

Push Square also reports, citing Piscatella, that PS5 dollar sales rose 43% year over year. Piscatella described Xbox console sales as a new September low for the brand in the US.
