Mario Kart World players across Europe have 36 hours to chase a place on Nintendo’s September Slipstream leaderboards. The European online event opens at 9 a.m. UK time on Saturday, September 26, and closes at 9 p.m. on Sunday, September 27.
Nintendo of Europe posted a one-hour warning at 7 a.m. UTC on Saturday. Once the event begins, every player starts with a versus rating of 3,000. Finishing higher in a race raises that rating, while lower finishes can drag it down. There is no fixed race allotment: entrants can play as much or as little as they want before their final rating locks at the deadline.
Event ID 4245 opens the grid
Joining requires Mario Kart World updated to its latest version, a Nintendo Switch 2 connected to the internet and an active Nintendo Switch Online membership. Nintendo says the seven-day free trial also qualifies.
From the game’s main menu, select Online Play, press the minus button to choose “Search for an event,” then enter Event ID 4245. Players who enter the code before the competition starts can practice under the same rules.
Eight races earn a participation reward
Nintendo plans to publish the final standings roughly one week after the event. One leaderboard will list the 100 highest-rated players, and another will recognize the top finisher for each character. That leaves room for a standout Cow or Waluigi even outside the overall top 100.
There is also a participation reward: complete at least eight races during the event and Nintendo will award 50 My Nintendo Platinum Points. The contest is open to residents of 28 listed European countries and is free to enter, though the hardware, game and online-membership requirements still apply.
The eligibility list stretches from Ireland and the United Kingdom through the Nordic countries, much of continental Europe and Cyprus. Nintendo’s terms say neither participation nor the chance of winning depends on buying one of its products, separate from the equipment needed to play.
