Arc Games and Thekla have released an “Explore the Realm” trailer for Order of the Sinking Star, a narrative puzzle adventure due October 8 for PlayStation 5, Switch 2 and PC via Steam. Gematsu’s report says the trailer turns its attention to the Overworld, the game’s central hub.
According to the publisher’s description, that hub is designed around four paths rather than a single prescribed route. Each starts with its own cast, hazards and puzzle vocabulary, and players can backtrack to another region if one route proves difficult. The North follows a fantasy moving company whose crew combines pushing, pulling and teleporting abilities. The East’s Trader works through an archipelago using magic mirrors to swap positions with reflections. In the West, an Explorer uses colored light beams to gain powers including phasing through walls, breaking boulders and teleporting. The South puts a Sailor to work with redirected rivers, skipping stones and lily pads. Arc Games says clearing routes also lifts the map’s fog, exposing larger areas and more connections among the systems.
Where the four paths meet
The larger twist is how those initially separate routes are meant to intersect. Arc Games says reaching the Gold Rooms bridges two realms at a time and unlocks six areas built around paired systems. The publisher points to combinations such as the Explorer’s light beams with the Trader’s magic mirrors, or the movers’ tools with the Sailor’s traversal puzzles. The trailer’s pitch is not that the regions merely sit alongside one another, but that familiar tools acquire a different use once they move into another world’s puzzle logic.
That structure gives the trailer more to establish than a list of themed zones: the four routes are the setup for later puzzles that blend their rules. Arc Games says the game has more than 1,000 handcrafted puzzles and dozens of mechanics, and it claims hundreds of hours of gameplay. Those scope figures are the publisher’s own description, not an independent assessment.
