TLDR

Retro Game Corps posted about replaying the Wii U version of the game through the Cemu emulator on a Steam Machine. The post highlights mods, cheats for infinite durability, and use of the Steam Controller. Replies debate emulation choices between Wii U and Switch versions, console pricing comparisons, and whether weapon durability improves gameplay. Other users note that PC gaming allows custom performance tweaks and controller options. The original tweet includes a photo of the setup in action.

@RetroGameCorpsOne of the unexpected joys I’ve found with the Steam Machine is playing BOTW again (Wii U version via Cemu) at 4K 60fps with mods and cheats (infinite durability ftw). Really nice experience with the Steam Controller, too
@gamesarentartIs there a reason to emulate the Wii U version over the Switch version? Also, this game drowns you in weapons. Engage with the game mechanics smh.
@Eldonchorizo_Imagine paying $1,200 to play old Switch 1 games because it can’t run most new AAA games at 4K
@isolatedrookIt's wild to me that people hate weapon durability when it's literally what keeps the game fresh by forcing you to adapt, explore, and try new weapons.
@N4pstr@gamesarentart the wii u version just has more mods, since wii u emulators were mature long before switch emulators
@Gamer_Girl_Nowa>infinite durability Gamers truly hate any semblance of friction.
@allotheabove123The quotes to this post reaffirms that console war nerds still miss the point of PC gaming. Its about playing the way YOU want to play. Want to tweak the game's performance change mechanics? Use a different controller? Go for it its up to YOU.
@johniiboYou could have bought a Nintendo Switch 2 and the Switch 2 version of Breath of the Wild for cheaper than this btw lol
