TLDR

@signulll posted a video of young men performing alternating gestures and dances in city circles. The post called the events lame and expressed surprise that such cringe now occurs everywhere. Replies noted the kids are outside interacting and having fun. One compared the poses to past youth behavior like saying I am Cornholio. Another suggested pandemic lockdowns affected the participants. A further reply described the displays as mimicry of earlier cool styles.

@signullli can’t believe there are “aura battles” going on in every city. how did kids today get so damn lame? i don’t remember this type of cringe happening before.
@Willob@signulll Covid and its associated lockdowns fucked up a generation of young people in ways that we don’t really understand Fully yet
@UsingLyftPpl talk about how AI production will reduce the amount of training data available to AI over time and I think the same thing is happening to kids. Like whatever this is is just a mimicry of things that were “cool” in the past
@justalexokithis is so fucking funny is this real
@max_spero_@signulll Actually this is Very Good. The kids are outside and they still have a great sense of humor
@THEJaxEsqLook, we said “I am cornholio” and all kinds of other stuff. These kids are interacting and having fun, I don’t see it as a bad thing.
@mntungwa_ms@Cory3747 I specifically said when WE were kids because we used to play amongst each other, not grown adults using this to justify violence against bystanders.
