Arc Raiders is changing how its progression rewards are organized when the Frozen Trail update arrives October 8. In its Frozen Trail preview, developer Embark says the update introduces a Reward Pass system that it describes as an evolution of the game’s existing Raider Decks.
The important distinction is that the system is not one single paid track. Embark has outlined a Free Pass, a Premium Pass and a Legacy Pass, each with a different purpose. The studio has not announced the standalone price of the Premium Pass, the number of tiers, or the XP requirements needed to progress through it.
What the three passes are meant to do
The Free Pass is unlocked by earning XP and includes 200 Raider Tokens, five new outfits, gameplay items and 20 cosmetic items. Embark’s list of cosmetics includes Scrappy outfits, furniture, charms, attachments and emotes.
The Premium Pass adds premium versions of the outfits, exclusive colorways, weapon stencils, hairstyles and 1,150 Raider Tokens. That is the paid option described in the announcement, but the studio’s post does not set out a price or promise that its Token rewards will cover a future purchase.
The Legacy Pass is free for all players and combines the existing Raider Decks. Embark says that means players will not lose already-earned progress and can continue working toward the rewards attached to those older Decks. It is a meaningful qualifier for players who have been building through the current system rather than a reset of those rewards.
The Collector Set is separate
Embark also announced a Collector Set DLC that includes access to both the Free and Premium Reward Pass tracks, plus the Renzo cosmetic set, a Dragon’s Breath weapon stencil, a Bob hairstyle and 2,400 Raider Tokens. The announcement presents that package as an option for players who want the wider Frozen Trail bundle; it does not establish it as the only way to access the Reward Pass.
The broader update also brings a new map, enemies, Outposts and weapon changes. For this particular system, though, the usable facts are more limited: the tracks’ stated contents and the protection for old Raider Deck progress are clear, while price, progression pace and the full catalogue of rewards remain unannounced.
