A separate Dexerto update quotes the tournament organizer as saying, “The health and wellbeing of our attendees is our priority.” The event runs Oct. 16-17 and includes Super Smash Bros. Melee and Ultimate competitions.
According to Dexerto, Zimmerman posted while boarding a flight to Texas that his hands were swollen and that insect bites at home were one possible cause. He later said the insects had not been identified: His roommate suspected fleas, while others suggested bed bugs. Dexerto said Zimmerman had not confirmed bed bugs and that there was no evidence he brought any to the tournament.
