Take-Two and Microsoft reportedly entered a new long-term Xbox Publisher License Agreement, effective Sept. 17, 2026, according to TipRanks.

TipRanks said the reported agreement gives Take-Two the right to develop, publish, manufacture, market, distribute, and sell Xbox-compatible products across all Xbox devices. It also replaces prior Xbox publishing arrangements between the companies and sets wholesale pricing and revenue-share terms for digital content, plus fees and royalties for physical media, according to the TipRanks report.

The same report said Microsoft retains approval rights over game concepts and marketing using its marks. It also described termination provisions for situations such as material breach or insolvency, while allowing Take-Two to sell off existing inventory after expiration or termination, per TipRanks.

A separate post from Tom Warren on X added speculation that the "all Xbox devices" language could matter because an earlier publisher agreement was specific to Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, but he framed that as speculation rather than confirmed reporting.
