An Xbox PC app update appears to have exposed the name, emblem and unlock sound for a new completion reward called a Mythic Achievement. The assets suggest Microsoft is moving closer to giving players a distinct marker for earning every achievement in a game, but Xbox has not formally announced the feature's rules or release date.
Klobrille posted on September 22 that the update revealed the Mythic Achievement label, a symbol and an unlock sound. The post described the reward as an expected marker for reaching 100% Gamerscore in a game. That is a report about assets found in the app, not confirmation of the final implementation.
Insider Gaming reports that the audio cue runs for 16 seconds. Its accompanying image shows a green circular badge with a pale, star-like center beneath the words “Xbox Mythic Achievement.” Neither source shows the feature working on a retail Xbox account or identifies a public rollout date.
A completion reward is taking shape
The apparent design resembles PlayStation's Platinum Trophy, which marks completion of the rest of a game's trophy list. For Xbox, the expected trigger is 100% of a title's Gamerscore. The comparison explains the feature's purpose, but it does not establish that Microsoft's eligibility rules will copy Sony's system exactly.
The new assets follow an earlier clue. Insider Gaming reported that high-Gamerscore player Raymond “Stallion83” Cox saw a Mythic Achievement category on September 19. The outlet stressed at the time that Xbox had made no official announcement.
There was also a narrower signal in August. A separate Insider Gaming report said Xbox CEO Asha Sharma replied to a fan asking about a Platinum-style reward by saying the team was working on something for later in 2026. The response did not name Mythic Achievements or define how they would work.
The biggest player-facing questions remain unresolved. Microsoft has not said whether completed older games will receive Mythic rewards automatically, whether players must reopen those games, or whether developers will need to update existing achievement lists. Until Xbox publishes those details, the badge and sound are evidence of work in progress rather than a finished launch.
