Rats Play Doom 🐀

This project developed a VR setup for rats to play DOOM, featuring a motion-tracked treadmill ball, a panoramic headset, an input trigger, and a reward circuit. All components are open-sourced, and the setup allows rats to navigate and interact with the game, reinforcing behaviors with sugar water rewards. The project is modular and built with 3D-printable designs, circuit diagrams, firmware, and control software. While initial engagement was promising, full behavioral validation and long-term effects on rat well-being require further research.
