TLDR

A post describes PS5X as an experimental PS5 emulator running on Xbox Series X, based on the open-source KytyPS5 emulator. It says the project must translate Vulkan graphics to Xbox’s DirectX 12, with early tests showing Quake 2 running with controller and audio support. The post stresses that development is extremely early and far from a full PS5 emulation solution. It also says PS5X’s developer has said AI is being used to help with development and code conversion.

@Pirat_NationAn experimental PS5 emulator is now running on Xbox Series X. The project, called PS5X, is being developed by Devran Cosmo Uenal and is based on the open-source KytyPS5 emulator. KytyPS5 uses Vulkan, while Xbox uses DirectX 12, so the project has to translate the graphics side to work with DX12. Early tests already show games such as Quake 2 running, with controller and audio support. The project is still extremely early and far from a full PS5 emulation solution. Uenal has also said AI is being used to help with development and code conversion.25d
