CATL launches sodium batteries: extremely durable and stable at –40°C
CATL, the world's largest battery maker, has unveiled the world's first mass-produced sodium batteries for commercial vehicles. The new technology promises much lower costs, impressive lifespan and stable performance even in extreme temperature conditions.
CATL has introduced the world's first mass-produced sodium batteries for commercial vehicles, stable at -40°C. These batteries, part of the Tianxing II range, promise lower costs, impressive lifespan, and stable performance in extreme temperatures. They retain 92% capacity at -20°C and 90% at -40°C, with a lifespan of over 10,000 cycles. CATL also plans to open a battery factory in Europe by 2026.
