Posts citing a 2026 bioRxiv preprint describe about a 10% increase in ATP production in cultured human cells exposed to specific infrared frequencies. The work was described as awaiting peer review.

Something strange is vibrating inside our cells…
Scientists have detected a mysterious **71-terahertz signal** inside mitochondria — the tiny structures that produce much of the energy our cells need.

That means the signal is oscillating about **71 trillion times every second**.

And here is where things get really interesting…

The signal appeared in living cells, tissues, and intact mitochondria, but disappeared when the mitochondrial structure was disrupted. Scientists say this makes it difficult to explain the signal using ordinary molecular vibrations.

Their proposed explanation is even more surprising: the folded inner membranes of mitochondria may allow **light and molecular vibrations to interact in a quantum-mechanical state called a polariton**.
