‘We Are Aliens’ and ‘Praying Mantis’ take top prizes at Ottawa International Animation Festival

Cartoon Brew reports that Kohei Kadowaki’s ‘We Are Aliens’ and Joe Hsieh’s ‘Praying Mantis’ won the Ottawa International Animation Festival’s top prizes. The outlet says Laurence Thérien’s ‘Ball Face’ became the first film in the festival’s 50-year history to win four awards in one year. Other winners included ‘Eri,’ ‘The Comet,’ Adult Swim’s ‘The Elephant,’ and Don Hertzfeldt’s ‘Paper Trail.’
