Cate Blanchett’s Displacement Film Fund screens its first five shorts at Tokyo festival

The five fund-backed shorts received their Japan premiere at the Tokyo International Film Festival, Variety reports. Deadline says Blanchett joined Sadat and Rasoulof for a Q&A and described an effort to support filmmakers who have experienced displacement. Sadat and Rasoulof also pushed back on the idea of a separate Oscar category for exiled filmmakers, according to Variety.
