AMC Kips Bay 15 faces Jan. 3, 2027, closing unless an arrangement keeps it open

Variety reports AMC Kips Bay 15 is scheduled to close Jan. 3, 2027, unless an arrangement keeps it open. CEO Adam Aron says the building owner terminated AMC’s lease and that the chain proposed keeping a theater alongside an expanded NYU Langone Health facility, possibly by making the cinema smaller. Aron wants AMC to stay, but his proposals remain an appeal rather than an announced agreement.
