Jon Gosselin, Collin and Hannah set to share 'Jon & Kate Plus 8' stories in Netflix documentary

Netflix announced Oct. 21 that Jon Gosselin and his children Collin and Hannah will share their stories in a documentary about what happened behind the scenes of “Jon & Kate Plus 8.” The company says the film is now in production.

An official logline quoted by Variety’s William Earl describes “competing memories of the same childhood, the same home, the same spotlight.” It says the documentary will bring together perspectives from children who grew up on camera, adults who built a brand around them and the audience that watched. That is Netflix’s proposed scope for the film, not an account of a completed documentary.

The series began on Discovery Health before moving to TLC and followed a family with sextuplets and twins, . Jon and Kate split during its run, after which the show was rebranded “Kate Plus 8.” Variety names Mike Gasparro and Julia Willoughby-Nason of The Cinemart as the documentary’s producers.
