Ethel Cain listed for untitled ‘Werwulf’ song in awards forecast

The Hollywood Reporter’s Feinberg Forecast places Ethel Cain beside a TBA entry from Robert Eggers’ Werwulf in its Best Original Song section. The entry sits under “Still to Come or Under Embargo,” separate from the forecast’s ranked contenders.

The same forecast places Werwulf under “Still to See or Under Embargo” for Best Picture. Its author says the film remains “off the books” and describes the charts as projections of awards outcomes, not endorsements.

Posts on X went further than the song listing. PopBase claimed Cain had reportedly written an original song; CinemaWireNews claimed she had written and recorded it. The Hollywood Reporter’s entry names Cain but does not say she wrote or recorded a track.

The prospect excited @pculturejunkie, who liked the Cain, Eggers and werewolf pairing. @shrugjaniedemo called for alarms over the prospect of a new Cain song. The forecast, meanwhile, gives no song title beyond TBA.
