Chase Infiniti will star in Portrait of God, a horror feature from director Dylan Clark that Lionsgate has acquired and greenlit, The Hollywood Reporter reported on Oct. 1. Sam Raimi and Jordan Peele are producing, marking their first collaboration.
The project was previously set up at Universal, which let it go earlier this year, according to the report. Raimi is producing through Ghost House Pictures and Peele through Monkeypaw. Clark wrote the screenplay with Joe Russo.
Portrait of God expands Clark’s 2022 short of the same name, which drew millions of views online. The feature’s plot remains under wraps; sources described it to The Hollywood Reporter as a new approach to religious horror. The short’s premise is not a confirmed synopsis of the feature.
Infiniti broke out in Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another. Clark is also set to make his feature directing debut with a Blair Witch reboot for Lionsgate and Blumhouse Atomic Monster before Portrait of God, according to the report.
In a statement carried by the outlet, Clark welcomed Infiniti and praised Lionsgate’s support for his filmmaking. The producing team also includes Ghost House’s Rob Tapert, Monkeypaw’s Win Rosenfeld and Russo.
