Scott Menzel@ScottDMenzelRAY GUNN is an animated film noir brought to life by the one and only Brad Bird. It gives off Who Framed Roger Rabbit vibes while fully embracing the noir genre. Sam Rockwell is very good as the voice of Ray, but Scarlett Johansson shines the brightest as Venus Nova. The animation is gorgeous throughout and I felt like the story only got stronger and more engaging as the film went on. Michael Giacchino’s score is also quite good, and the original songs were quite catchy and fun. #RayGunn39m
Pop Buzz@popbuzzz_Scarlett Johansson stuns in a red dress at the world premiere of the animated film Ray Gunn during the 70th BFI London Film Festival on October 10, 2026. Ray Gunn is Brad Bird’s long-in-development sci-fi noir animation featuring Sam Rockwell voicing the titular private detective in a futuristic alien-dominated city and Johansson voicing pop star Venus Nova. The film, produced by Skydance Animation for Netflix, screens at the festival before a limited theatrical release on December 4 and streaming debut on December 18.27m
