A new still from HBO’s Lanterns is being shared as the first look at Hal Jordan’s father. DCFilmNews posted the image on Thursday, showing a mustachioed man in a brown leather jacket seated in a vehicle.

The still adds a glimpse of the family history behind Kyle Chandler’s veteran Green Lantern. The post did not identify the performer or provide episode context, so exactly where the scene fits into the season remains unclear.

Lanterns premiered Aug. 16 on HBO and HBO Max. The eight-episode DC Studios drama stars Chandler as Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre as new recruit John Stewart, with the pair investigating an Earth-based murder mystery in Rushville, Nebraska.
