Patrick Stewart's final on-screen appearance reportedly will be in 'Avengers: Doomsday'

Marvel Studios called Patrick Stewart's return as Charles Xavier in 'Avengers: Doomsday' his final on-screen appearance, Variety reports. Stewart died at 86, and the film is scheduled to open in theaters Dec. 18. Variety also recalls his July remark that he could not imagine officially retiring. That wording does not establish that the film was his final acting job across all media.
