Production begins on Gustaf Skarsgård’s feature directorial debut ‘The Cannibal’

Variety reports that Peter Birro wrote ‘The Cannibal,’ which follows a screenwriter who returns to Bergman’s estate for inspiration and encounters a demonic presence. Production began on Fårö in October 2026 and is scheduled to continue through November. Ardalan Esmaili plays the screenwriter, while Claes Ljungmark is set to portray Bergman.
