Bill Irwin adapts and stars in Broadway's 'The Imaginary Invalid'

Gold Derby reports that Irwin commissioned an English translation of Molière's 1673 comedy, then pared it down for Broadway. He plays the hypochondriac Argan alongside Rachel Bloom and Dylan Baker. Deadline's review calls the 90-minute adaptation an enjoyable, broad comedy, singling out Irwin's clowning and Bloom's performance as the maid Toinette.
