Disney reveals ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ cost $556.8 million, over budget

Forbes reports that an earnings filing from Disney’s UK production subsidiary puts the film’s cost at $556.8 million. A Disney financial controller said final costs exceeded the production budget. The movie grossed $1.34 billion; assuming Disney received half the box-office takings, Forbes estimates $223.9 million left after net production spending. Marketing costs and other income leave its overall profitability uncertain.
