‘Avengers: Endgame’ reportedly overtakes ‘Avatar’ in worldwide box-office totals

An entertainment account says the special re-release of 2019’s ‘Avengers: Endgame’ earned $4.4 million in its second North American week. It puts the film’s worldwide total across all releases at about $2.925 billion, ahead of ‘Avatar.’ The account also places DreamWorks’ animated ‘Forgotten Island’ sixth, reporting $7.2 million in its second week and $23.6 million to date.
