Netflix Reports Theatrical Box Office Grosses for First Time with 'La Bola Negra' Release
Variety reports the Spanish-language film from Los Javis earned $277,500 from four theaters, with a planned 45-day theatrical run.
TLDR
Variety describes Netflix’s first disclosure of theatrical grosses as a strategic shift. It says “La Bola Negra” averaged $69,375 per screen, second only to “Parasite” among non-English-language films. Netflix plans to keep the film in theaters for 45 days before its December 2 streaming debut and to report grosses for upcoming films by David Fincher and Greta Gerwig.
