‘Dune: Part One’ marked its fifth anniversary on October 22, 2026

ATRightMovies marked ‘Dune: Part One’s’ fifth anniversary with a thread about attempts to adapt Frank Herbert’s novel. It says a 1970s project stalled after producer Arthur Jacobs died, while Alejandro Jodorowsky’s adaptation was ill-fated. The thread also recounts the film’s move from a planned November 2020 opening to October 2021, its simultaneous HBO Max release and its six Academy Awards.
