Amazon MGM's final James Bond screen tests could begin October 23

Amazon MGM Studios is setting up final auditions for the next James Bond, with screen tests that could begin Friday, Oct. 23, and continue through the following week, Justin Kroll reported for Deadline on Oct. 22. The report describes plans for the tests, not tests already completed.

Deadline said at least four test offers had gone out. Insiders expected Jack Lowden, Callum Turner and Josh O’Connor to test, but the outlet described their participation as unconfirmed. Borys Kit reported for The Hollywood Reporter that Turner and Lowden were said to be in the mix for London tests that could begin as early as Friday. His sources differed on the size of the group: one account put it at three or more actors, another at up to five.

Deadline reported that tests planned for earlier in October were pushed back because of scheduling conflicts so they could take place around the same time. It identified producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman and director Denis Villeneuve as involved in narrowing the group. Deadline said there was no timetable for a final casting decision, though most expected one by the end of the year.
