Films in 2025

On another thread, someone was complaining about the death of original content in film. I vociferously disagree. I’m seeing a lot of original, critically acclaimed, and compelling content in films in 2025. No, they don’t have sprawling $200mil advertising budgets, and months long press junkets, but I’m seeing them at my local theaters and streaming services. That old chestnut is tired and untrue. If you don’t want to see franchise films, stop going to see them. I assure you the moment those films become unprofitable, they will cease. #filmsky #2025
