Hippo Campus frontman Jake Luppen plans awake brain surgery on November 6, 2026

Extra reports Luppen said a scan showed possible growth in a brain lesion first found seven years ago. He said an EEG showed that symptoms he thought were panic were focal seizures. His doctors believe the lesion is a stage two glioma and chose a craniotomy because a biopsy would be too dangerous. Luppen expects to be awake for the roughly six-hour surgery on November 6; surgeons plan to remove as much of the lesion as possible and test it to determine treatment.
