Netflix Ousts Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria, Fires Film Chief Dan Lin in Major Leadership Overhaul

Variety reports Netflix laid off 1,000 employees and ousted chief content officer Bela Bajaria, film head Dan Lin and Lin’s top lieutenant, Doug Belgrad. It tapped Peter Rice to replace Bajaria. On an October 20 earnings call, co-CEO Ted Sarandos said Netflix could do better and highlighted the impact a “big buzzy” show could have, especially in the U.S. He also praised Rice’s talent relations.
