‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ wins Outstanding Variety Series Emmy for its final season

ScreenRant reports that ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ won Outstanding Variety Series at the 2026 Emmys for its last season. TheWrap says Colbert encouraged Hollywood to hire his former writers and praised his team, saying the award “says to me that I am not the only one who knows how brilliant the staff was.” Despite CBS’ cancellation of the show, Colbert called late night “just as funny and just as vital as it ever has been,” Variety reports.
