Marvel’s changing box-office fortunes in China

A post describes “Avengers: Endgame’s” roughly $632 million Chinese gross in 2019 as a peak for the MCU’s interconnected-film approach. It says Marvel films were absent from Chinese cinemas for more than three years after “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” and “Quantumania” grossed roughly $39 million there in 2023. The post also says “Zootopia 2” surpassed “Endgame” as China’s highest-grossing imported film in January 2026.
