NBC is reportedly developing a modern-day ‘Gatsby’ police procedural

The project remains in development at NBC, Deadline reports. Writer-executive producers Jake Coburn and Jason Tracey are behind the proposed series with Universal Television. Its premise pairs Det. Jay Gatsby, who has a gift for reading people, with decorated state police detective Nicole “Nicky” Carraway, who dreams of writing. Nicky is the female counterpart to the novel’s narrator, Nick Carraway. Deadline gave no premiere timetable.
