Mike Flanagan excludes 'Tubular Bells' from *The Exorcist: Martyrs*, emphasizes fresh direction

In an interview with ComicBook.com, director Mike Flanagan said he was "pretty adamant" about leaving "Tubular Bells" out of The Exorcist: Martyrs. Reusing the theme, he said, would surrender some of the film’s unique identity. Flanagan said the sequel shares the original’s sense of "evil without remedy" rather than trying to recreate what made it scary. ComicBook.com says the film, starring Scarlett Johansson, is set for theaters on March 12, 2027.
