2026 TIFF audience award predictions: “The Debut,” “La Bola Negra” and “I Play Rocky”
The forecast’s author says their picks included at least two of TIFF’s final top three every year from 2021 through 2025, with all three films matching in 2022.
TLDR
A September 19, 2026 forecast puts A24’s “The Debut” first for TIFF’s audience award, followed by Netflix’s “La Bola Negra” and Amazon MGM’s “I Play Rocky.” The author says they picked at least two of the eventual top three each year from 2021 through 2025. Their retrospective lists all three 2022 films as correct picks, including winner “The Fabelmans,” but places “Women Talking” and “Glass Onion” in the reverse order from their predictions.
