Gears of War: E-Day to launch without meat shields or chainsaw duels

IGN reports that Gears of War: E-Day won't include taking enemies hostage as “meat shields” or dueling with the chainsaw attachments on Lancer assault rifles at launch. Citing a developer blog from The Coalition, IGN says the team couldn't build those features for launch because it started the prequel from scratch rather than building on previous Gears of War games.
