Hulu picks up Ryan Coogler’s ‘X-Files’ reboot to series

Variety reports Hulu has picked up Ryan Coogler’s ‘X-Files’ reboot to series. Danielle Deadwyler and Himesh Patel will star as FBI agents assigned to a long-shuttered division devoted to unexplained cases. Coogler wrote and directed the pilot and will executive produce the series alongside showrunner Jennifer Yale. A source told Variety the actors will play new characters rather than versions of Mulder and Scully.
