A24’s ‘Elden Ring’ heads to American Film Market with reported $175 million to $200 million budget

A24’s Elden Ring adaptation is heading to the American Film Market with a budget that Deadline’s sources peg at $175 million to $200 million, closer to the upper figure. In his Oct. 27 report, Andreas Wiseman calls it the biggest-budget standalone project ever on sale at a film or TV market. The budget is an estimate, and the market comparison is Deadline’s.

Amazon MGM has taken pay-1 streaming rights in a large number of international markets, Deadline reports. The deal concerns a streaming window, not all rights to the film. Deadline says A24 is fully financing the movie; A24, Amazon and the producers declined to comment to the outlet.

Deadline describes the film, written and directed by Alex Garland, as in post-production. It names Kit Connor, Cailee Spaeny and Nick Offerman among the cast and says a market presentation is due, potentially with footage.

Deadline says the film is set for a March 2028 release in theaters and IMAX.
