Judge replaces Russell Brand indecent assault count with attempted indecent assault as trial continues

At Southwark Crown Court on Oct. 27, jurors formally returned a not-guilty verdict on Russell Brand’s original indecent assault count after the judge found insufficient evidence for that charge, Deadline reports. An attempted-indecent-assault count replaces it and remains for jurors to consider, Variety reports. Brand also faces three rape and three sexual assault counts, denies the allegations and has pleaded not guilty. The trial continues.
