Netflix hires former Apple Podcasts executive Steve Wilson to lead podcast acquisitions

The Hollywood Reporter says Bloomberg first reported the hire, which Netflix confirmed. Wilson will initially serve as a consultant handling podcast content acquisitions, THR reports. TheWrap says Wilson was an early Apple Podcasts team member and later served as Daylight Media’s chief strategy officer. Netflix has made podcast distribution deals with Spotify, iHeartMedia and Barstool, TheWrap reports.
