Joe Petagno’s early Facehugger concept for ‘Alien’
A post describes a more explicit depiction of implantation in Petagno’s design and says Ridley Scott rejected that approach.
TLDR
A post describes Joe Petagno’s early Facehugger concept for ‘Alien’ (1979) as showing the creature attached directly to Kane with a more explicit method of implantation. It says Ridley Scott rejected that approach. The post also says H.R. Giger envisioned a translucent version and that the finished creature was a practical puppet made from latex, jelly and strings.
