TLDR

Despite early artwork and posters existing, the project's stalled status reflects complex post-merger dynamics under Skydance-Warner Bros. Welling's public optimism and "labor of love" characterization resonated with longtime Smallville fans on social media, expressing support amid broader DCU uncertainty. The update sustained nostalgia-driven discourse around the beloved 10-season prequel series and demonstrated continuing fan investment in seeing original characters and creators return to complete the story.
