Bocchi the Rock! movie prequel announced with 2027 theatrical release
The film, directed by Shin Wakabayashi with character design by Yuki Horiguchi, will be animated by CloverWorks.
TLDR
The official anime account unveiled a teaser visual and named Erika Yoshida as screenwriter. The prequel reportedly focuses on Seika and Nijika's past, a story from a special chapter in the manga's fifth volume. One fan on X said they had expected that chapter to become a 20-minute OVA instead of a movie.
