Encanto 2 reportedly hasn't been discussed for development or greenlighting

Asked about discussions to develop and greenlight 'Encanto 2,' Walt Disney Animation Studios creative executive Yvett Merino answered 'No' in an interview with The Direct published Oct. 22, 2026. She also expressed enthusiasm for the first film she produced and described an Encanto casita and attraction being built at Disney parks in Florida. Her answer addressed those specific sequel discussions, not every possible future for the film.
