Tony Gilroy calls the Paramount–Warner Bros. merger ‘tragic’

Variety reports Gilroy argued that the movie business is solid but said destroying the structure that supports it “in the name of venture capital” would be tragic. He spoke at the premiere of “Behemoth!” Variety says Skydance had tentatively set October 6 to close the merger, which would put Paramount and Warner Bros. under one corporate owner.
