Ed Sheeran addresses Macklemore’s tour removal, calling events in Gaza “catastrophic and unjustifiable”

Variety reports that Ed Sheeran addressed the controversy over Macklemore’s removal from his tour at the start of a Saturday show. “I am making mistakes, and I’m so so sorry,” he said. Sheeran called what is happening in Gaza “catastrophic and unjustifiable” and described the suffering as a “human tragedy.” He also said he generally seeks to keep concerts focused on “unity, joy, escapism, love” rather than his political views.
