‘Grey’s Anatomy’ spinoff delayed to 2027-28 season, moves production to New Mexico

Originally slated for midseason 2027, the series from Shonda Rhimes and Meg Marinis is now set for the 2027-28 season. Executive producer Betsy Beers says efforts to secure California tax credits cost the production time, money and personnel. She urged lawmakers to review the program’s selection criteria and increase funding. The drama follows a team at a rural West Texas medical center.
