TLDR
Cartoon Brew reports that Michael Berardini’s indie short ‘Monitor’ is online in full after opening the 2026 Annecy Festival. Inspired by his anxieties as a father of two, it qualified for 2027 Oscar consideration through the Fort Worth Film Commission’s 2026 Premiere Package program, becoming the initiative’s first selected animated short. Berardini told the outlet he largely made the film himself, combining 2D animation with 3D sets.
